7th grade students in Mrs. Darmody’s Semester 1 Applied Technology classes recently showcased their Scratch game projects. Throughout the semester, each student programmed four interactive games using the Scratch platform at scratch.mit.edu: a Chase Game, Pong Game, Maze Game, and Make It Fly Game.
Students selected one of their games to present to the class, demonstrating their creativity, problem-solving skills, and understanding of core computer science concepts. These projects are part of the DESE-approved Computer Science curriculum and are fully aligned with the Massachusetts Digital Literacy and Computer Science (DLCS) standards.

The Booster Bashes were held today for each grade level, and they were a lot of fun! Our students had a great time celebrating together, and we are grateful to the PTSA for organizing such an engaging and spirited event.
As part of the Booster Bashes, we set a school-wide fundraising goal of $8,000 to support whole-school and grade-specific enrichment opportunities. While we didn’t quite reach our goal today, there is still time! Please note that MyBooster.com will remain open for one more week, and additional contributions will continue to support meaningful experiences for our students. Thank you again for your continued support of the Beckwith Middle School Booster Bashes Fundraiser and for all that you do to support our school community.
