     Welcome to Science in the sixth grade, Room 219.   Most of our work, and notes  will be entered into our science notebooks.  All handouts should be kept in a science folder in your binder.

     It is important to stay up to date and be prepared for class each day by bringing your science book, notebook, journal, pencils, and colored pencils to class.  Preparation is the key to success!


Class Rules and Expectations:

RESPECT:  Always show respect for yourself , others and the classroom.

RESPONSIBILITY: Be prepared, do your very best, and be a team player.

AGENDA:  Record your assignments and homework in your agenda for every class.  Chelck is before leaving school to make sure you have everything you need before leaving school.

ABSENCES:  If you miss class for any reason, it is your responsibility to make up your work. Please see me about missed tests/quizes/assignments as soon as possible.


     We start the year with The Nature of Science.  We will focus on Scientific Method and Inquiry, in other words, How Science Works.  We use the Metric System in science measurement and will practice using science tools for measurement.

     The majority of the year we will focus on Earth Science, including the Earth's interior structure and surface changes.

       We will also be studying Life Science including Cells this year.
